Dr. Marinus has a MSc in Health Science (1999, with distinction). His PhD project involved clinimetrics in Parkinson ’s disease (2003). He is a member of the Netherlands Epidemiological Society. His main research interests are clinimetrics, assessment techniques, movement disorders and the effect of pain on movement, in particular in relation to Parkinson’s disease and Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. He is a member of the steering committee of the knowledge consortium TREND, where he is program leader of epidemiology and genetics. He has published over 60 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
