Linda Bank is a Postdoc on Neuras Project 1. In 2009, Linda Bank graduated cum laude for the BSc and MSc Human Movement Sciences at the VU University in Amsterdam (specialization ‘Learning, development, and coordination of movement’). From 2009 to 2013, she worked as a PhD student at the department of Neurology in the LUMC. Her project aimed to obtain a better understanding of the motor dysfunction in patients with Complex Regional Pain Syndrome. To this end, she evaluated changes in the motor system, changes in sensory processing and problems in motor sensory-motor integration in this condition. Her main interest lies in the interplay between the various systems involved with movement coordination and interaction with the environment (i.e., the musculoskeletal system, the nervous system and senses). As a post-doctoral researcher, she will build a bridge between clinicians and engineers in order to develop a set-up that allows to search for the weak(est) links in the patient’s motor performance (see NEURAS project 1).
