Professor of applied electrophysiology at the Faculty of Human Movement Sciences. He is also medical physicist at the Department of Neurology/Clinical Neurophysiology of the Radboud University Nijmegen Medical Centre. He is editor of the European Journal of Applied Physiology and belongs to the Advisory board of the Journal of Electromyography and Kinesiology. The fields of application of his work are clinical neurophysiology, cognition research, and kinesiology. He received the prestigious four yearly Storm-van-Leeuwen-Magnus Award from the Dutch Society of Clinical Neurophysiology. The present research is on spatio-temporal information in electrophysiological data (EEG, EMG) and the application and modelling of non-invasive brain stimulation (TMS, tDCS). He has published over 170 papers in peer-reviewed journals.
