He obtained his MD at the Radboud University Nijmegen in 1989 and his PhD at the Erasmus MC in 2001, is professor in Neurorehabilitation at the dept of Rehabilitation Medicine at the Erasmus MC, Rotterdam and leads The Rotterdam Neurorehabilitation Research group (RoNeRes). Further he is physiatrist at Rijndam rehabilitation centre since 1995. His scientific and clinical focus is on patients with acquired brain injury covering topics such as cognition, aphasia and motor disorders.
